Based in Newcastle, New South Wales, our adaptive gym facility has the equipment, the space and the personnel to achieve your goals. Our systematic and planned treatment regimes will help to improve and restore not only your physical function but your overall health both mentally and physically.

We love out of chair therapy to challenge your stability and get those muscles firing.

Our team is driven by pioneering therapists who specialise in complex neurological and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. We pride ourselves on supporting people throughout their journey, not only during their physiotherapy sessions. Our Team

Pip
Head Physiotherapist

Pip is passionate about patient focused therapy. With over 15 years experience in both sports and exercise Physiotherapy as well as spinal cord injuries and other complex neurological disorders, she loves working with individuals on their own goals and helping establish a strong team to support them. Outside of work Pip can be found wrangling her kids and countless animals on her farm.

Emily
Physiotherapist

Emily is one of the favourite therapists here at Breaking Boundaries and it's easy to see why.  Don't let her quiet smile fool you, she can assess and identify her client's functional impairments and come up with a treatment plan that is both innovative and intensive.  Emily gets great results with her clients.

When Emily's not at work she can often be found enjoying the peace and quiet out rowing, or trying new places to eat to replace all the energy she burns at work.

Connor
Physiotherapist

Connor has joined BB after working at one of the busiest hospitals in Sydney - St Vincent's.  Connor is passionate about helping individuals achieve their goals, no matter what those goals may be.  He commits himself fully to each and every client, and his physio sessions at BB are exciting to watch as he gets clients to bring the best out of themselves. On weekends Connor likes to take on the cricket or rugby pitch, but he has set himself the goal of completing an ultramarathon this year.

Nicole
Physiotherapist

Nic is the little pocket rocket here at BB.  With a degree in Exercise Sports Science AND a Masters in Physiotherapy as well as extensive clinical experience, Nic has her clients working in ways they never thought were possible.  Nic discovered her love for working with individuals with a Spinal Cord Injury whilst on university placement at the Prince of Wales and is a master at breaking down complex skills such as vehicle transfers so that clients can work at achieving their goals.  She has a passion for improving functional performance in people with neurological disorders and complex musculoskeletal disorders such as multi-traumas. When not at work Nic can be found out on the water sailing with the wind in her hair and with about 1000 layers of waterproof jackets on as she is our resident cold frog and the only person to wear a jumper in the gym in Summer!

Leah
Exercise Therapist/Therapy Assistant

Leah is our super experienced, highly qualified exercise therapist and therapy assistant. Leah has over 6 years of experience working with individuals with Spinal Cord Injuries. Leah completed her bachelor and masters degree is exercise and sport science in the USA and so brings an amazing dynamic to the BB team as the USA approach to rehab is often a lot more about focusing on what you can do post injury, instead of what you can’t. Leah is fantastic at gait retraining and mobility work after paralysis. Leah is an amazing swimmer and her hydrotherapy sessions are phenomenal! Outside of work you can find Leah somewhere on the beach, swimming, running or enjoying the sun!

Helaina
Therapy Assistant

Helaina is one of our therapy assistants who comes in a perfect pair with Fletcher, the therapy dog.  Helaina is studying physiotherapy at university and is also a dog trainer, horse riding instructor, horse trainer, gymnastics coach and all around amazing person.  Helaina and Fletcher brighten up our day and can get even the most reluctant person keen to exercise.

Helaina originally comes from Georgia, USA, so don't get in an argument with her about USA politics!
